The Greater Trail area is nestled in the Columbia River Valley of souteastern British Columbia, 19 km north of the U.S. border. The closest major city is Kelowna at 309 km to the west. Vancouver is 625 km to the west and Calgary is 656 km to the east. Spokane, Trail's U.S. neighbour to the south, is 220 km.

Weather and Climate:

The Greater Trail area has a moderate climate with low humidity, hot dry summers, and relatively mild winters. The average daily maximum temperature in July is 28 degrees Celcius with extreme highs up to 39.6 degrees Celcius.

The average daily minimum for January is -5.9 degrees Celcius with extreme lows down to -25.7 degrees Celcius. The annual sunshine average is 1860 hours while the average annual precipitation is 731 mm.
