Trails fifth annual BC River Days celebration September 30th, 2007 at Gyro Park was well attended. The rain did not seem to dampen the spirits of the children and their parents that came to help celebrate this day.

Most of the educational exhibitors turned out providing a great learning experience for all. Some of the exhibits included BC Fish & Wildlife, Teck Cominco, Columbia River Power Rafting, BC Forestry, Trail Sea Cadets, Kootenay Columbia Trails Society, Communities in Bloom and many more. There was live entertainment and fun zone for the kids.

David Ducharme of AmazingSand.com came back to Trail for a second year to build another one of his amazing sand sculptures.

BC River Days was first celebrated in 1980 and by 1993 it had been proclaimed by 90 BC municipal governments as an official provincial event. In 2003 World River Days was established based on the success of BC River Days and as part of the UN Water For Life Decade initiative. (Trail-Rossland News Sept 26/07)
