Visual Arts
An avid supporter of the art community, the VISAC Community Art Gallery located in Trail holds local and touring exhibits and works in cooperation with Community Education in conducting workshops in the Visual Arts. Visit our regional gallery, the Kootenay Gallery of Art, History and Science and get in touch with the Trail Art Club, the Rossland Art Club or the Greater Trail Potter’s Guild for more information about current events, exhibits and programs.
Artisan Studios
Tour the private studios of some of Canada’s best artists. Meet one of the Kootenay’s Master Weavers, and marvel at the craftsmanship of some of the regions best woodcrafters, and the exquisite works of local artists.
Literary Arts
The tranquility of the Kootenays has been an inspiration to many writers. Published works by many of the regions literary artists are a proud testament to the thriving art community in the West Kootenay.
Performing Arts
The performing art series at the community centre brings several top performers into the region every year. From broadway productions and symphonies to popular musicians and cultural performances, there is something to suit everybody's artistic tastes! The free spirited Boom Town Garter Girls are a Rossland tradition, dating back to the days of gold mines and boom towns, and the Rossland Light Opera Players are internationally recognized for their fantastic performances.
