Hockey

Hockey has been a part of Trail’s sporting culture since the turn of the century. It has brought Trail International fame as well being the last amateur hockey team to win two world championships in 1939 and 1961.The name “Trail Smoke Eaters” is known to hockey fans country-wide, and today the junior team is one of the biggest draws among visiting teams in the BC Junior Hockey League. The Trail Smoke Eaters are synonymous with hockey history, excellence and tradition in our Community and Canada. Baseball

Baseball became one of Trail’s earliest organized sports following soon after Hockey. Little league teams from the area have won local and regional titles and are known nationwide. Today children of all ages play in one of Trails numerous baseball leagues. Softball and fastball are popular among the locals. For league information contact the Trail Parks and Recreation Department.

Swimming

Stay fit at the Trail Aquatic and Leisure Centre. Built in 1996, this multi-million dollar facility has won several awards for design and structure. It includes amenities that are sure to please the youngest “minnow” to the next inspiring Olympic Champion. These include a 25m-competition pool, leisure pool, water slide, and hot tub and steam room. Located at 1875 Columbia Ave Trail. Call 250-368-6484 for more information

Racquetball

There are two racquetball courts and one squash court located at the Trail Memorial Centre. To book these facilities, please call in advance 250-368-6484. Bookings are made 45 minutes prior to court time.

Tennis

Want to improve your tennis game? Lessons are available year round at the Trail Aquatic and Fitness Centre. From beginner introductory lessons to advanced skills development you can find it all right here or check out one of the other tennis courts located in the Greater Trail area.

Soccer

Play soccer on one of the many fields located in the greater Trail area.
For information regarding youth leagues contact the Trail Parks and Recreation department.

Curling

The Trail Memorial Centre is home to an 8 sheet Curling Rink and has a seating capacity for up to 2500 people. Contact the Parks and Recreation Centre for details.
