With an exciting history of pioneers and gold mining, it is difficult not to feel nostalgic for days gone by. Perhaps it is the facades of the old Heritage Buildings or the faint sense of prosperity that lingers from the gold mines. Whatever lures you, we have the attractions to entice you! Explore the historic LeRoi Gold Mine, tour Cominco and learn how a little smelter became a World leader in Lead and Zinc production. Take in a production of the famous Gold Fever Follies or catch the Boom Town Garter Girls in action! Then visit the Trail Sports Hall of Fame and discover where many of your favorite athletes were born and raised in the West Kootenay.

TeckCominco Trail Operations Interpretive Centre

In 1895, a small smelter was constructed in Trail to service the mines in Rossland. Today, Cominco is the world's largest lead and zinc smelter. Tour Cominco, and learn the story behind the worlds largest lead-zinc production complex. Visit the Cominco Interpretive Centre, with video and interactive displays, it is an adventure for the entire family. Come and discover the fascinating story behind the "Silver City" of Trail.

Much like a mini science centre, the interpretive centre hosts a variety of exciting hands-on exhibits about TeckCominco operations, employment, environment, and history. Watch a number of entertaining videos and interactive displays or play educational video games, and be sure to meet Tracozile, a talking robot who’s known for his insatiable love for TeckCominco Trail Operation’s processes, as well as for his occasional dry humour.

Museum

The Trail Museum is located in the Trail Memorial Centre at 1051 Victoria Street.

The Museum is modest in size however contains a wealth of artifacts, photos and unique historical items describing the history of Trail.
